Aside from chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!!, employees are motivated by knowing they are working for a company where their ideas and input really count, which is completely unique and ground-breaking for Fairtrade every single day of the year! All employees know that they are making a real difference to the lives of over 40,000 cocoa farmers in Ghana and it is always inspiring to meet the Kuapa farmers and members for example when they visit the UK on producer tours or for Board Meetings.
The Day Chocolate Company's inspiring story has enabled the recruitment of accomplished personnel from a broad field.
Weekly staff team meetings are a key time for sharing information, celebrating company achievements and identifying opportunities. All staff have a yearly management review and feedback. Volunteers and work placement students are welcomed and contribute valuably with their efforts and to the working environment. When Kuapa management visit London, they give briefing sessions to Day staff.
Our Divine Town strategy focuses marketing and awareness-raising on key areas to maximise employee and supporter contributions. Divine Towns include:
